Running Multiple RenderMan Studio/For Maya Versions
You can run multiple RenderMan for Maya/Studio versions but each has to be "tied" to a different Maya installation.
Continuing the steps from the Windows installation section:
Step 1: Edit the last 6 lines your "Maya.env" file in the Maya Version Folder folder, removing the "#" sign prefix in each line and making sure to change any <> place holders.
Step 2: Edit the file "RenderMan_for_Maya.module" in the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Modules\Maya\<MAYA_VERSION>\" to reflect the version you wish to work with per the <MAYA_VERSION>. Do so for each Maya version you have or wish to change the default RM version you wish to work with. For Example:
- To work with RenderManStudio 20.11 with Maya 2016.5: edit the file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Modules\Maya\2016.5\RenderMan_for_Maya.module" with the line "+ RenderMan_for_Maya 20.11 C:\Program Files\Pixar\RenderManStudio-20.11-maya2016.5\" (without the quotes).
- To work with RenderManForMaya 21.2 with Maya 2017: edit the file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Modules\Maya\2017\RenderMan_for_Maya.module" with the line "+ RenderMan_for_Maya 21.2 C:\Program Files\Pixar\RenderManForMaya-21.2-maya2017\" (without the quotes).
